Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrival → Negombo
Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB). Meet & greet by your Perk Travels representative. Transfer to Negombo (20 mins), a coastal town with lagoons, sandy beaches, and rich birdlife. Evening at leisure by the lagoon. Optional: lagoon birding walk. Overnight in Negombo.
Negombo → Wilpattu National Park
Transfer to Wilpattu (140 km | ~3.5 hrs). Wilpattu National Park, Sri Lanka's largest national park featuring scenic villu (natural lakes), dry forests, leopards, sloth bears, and quieter, less-crowded safari experiences. Evening safari. Wildlife: leopards, sloth bear (seasonal), spotted deer, crocodiles. Overnight in Wilpattu.
Wilpattu Full Day
Morning and evening safaris in Wilpattu. Explore villu lakes and dense dry zone forests, excellent leopard and wildlife sighting chance in a tranquil setting far less crowded than Yala. Overnight in Wilpattu.
Wilpattu → Sigiriya (Elephant Region)
Transfer to Sigiriya (110 km | ~3 hrs). Evening safari at Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park, famous for the spectacular "Gathering" of hundreds of wild elephants around ancient reservoirs, plus diverse birdlife. Overnight in Sigiriya.
Sigiriya → Kandy
Optional morning nature walk. Transfer to Kandy (90 km | ~3 hrs). En route: spice garden. Evening free time in Kandy. Overnight in Kandy.
Kandy → Nuwara Eliya
Transfer to Nuwara Eliya (75 km | ~3 hrs) through emerald tea estates. En route: Ramboda Falls, a tall cascading waterfall set in lush hills. Arrive in Nuwara Eliya, cool highland town with colonial charm, tea plantations, and misty mountain landscapes. Evening nature walk. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
Horton Plains National Park
Early morning visit to Horton Plains National Park, a high-altitude plateau with cloud forests, endemic wildlife (endemic birds, sambar deer), scenic trails, and the dramatic World's End cliff. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.
Nuwara Eliya → Yala (via Ella)
Transfer via Ella (160 km | ~5–6 hrs). En route: Nine Arch Bridge, iconic colonial-era railway bridge surrounded by jungle, and Ravana Falls. Continue to Yala National Park, Sri Lanka's premier wildlife reserve, famous for leopards, elephants, crocodiles, and rich birdlife. Overnight in Yala / Tissamaharama.
Yala Safari → Mirissa
Early morning safari in Yala National Park (~3–4 hrs). Wildlife: leopards, elephants, crocodiles, peacocks. Transfer to Mirissa (140 km | ~3.5 hrs), coastal town famous for whale watching, beautiful beaches, and marine life. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Mirissa.
Mirissa → Bentota
Optional early morning whale watching, blue whales, sperm whales, and dolphins in the Indian Ocean. Transfer to Bentota (90 km | ~2 hrs). Relax by the beach. Evening at leisure. Overnight in Bentota.
Bentota → Airport → Departure
Morning at leisure. Optional: Madhu River mangrove boat safari or Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery visit. Transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for departure.
